Teachers at CECyTE Baja California explained to Political Animal that this institution, which depends on the state government of Kiko Vega, generates its own publications, so it has an editorial committee that “improves, modifies and updates” the school contents every semester. While books and manuals that do not produce, they are acquired from “important publishers, both from Mexico and internationally”.
However, in this case of the fifth semester English book the teachers noted that the management of CECyTE Baja California, by José Luis Kato Lizardi, awarded to Da Vinci High Quality Impressions and Finishes the purchase of a book “plagued with rudeness” and “l inadequate use”, without first going through the prior evaluation of the contents and the approval of the editorial committee.

Or other insults like “son of a bitch“, expressions like “shut the fuck mouth,” or even translations that in Spanish Mexico can lend to a double sense like ‘Mind the Gap – Beware of the hollow’, ‘Piece of cake! – It’s sucked!’, or ‘Shoot the breeze’ – ‘Give the tongue’.
In addition, the book includes expressions in Spanish from Spain that have no use in Mexico, such as ‘It’s not worth a hard’ – a hard one equals five pesetas, the old Spanish currency before the arrival of the euro – or ‘Don’t tell me milongas’ – an expression that colloquially is use to ask that someone not deceive you, or make no excuses.
A teaching person from CECyTE Baja California, who asked to omit his name for fear of labor reprisals, said that when he had the book in his hands he thought it was a “copy-paste” from another textbook from Spain. And that, therefore, the book of CECYTE includes rudeness and insults in Spanish from Spain. 
“Perhaps, culturally, these phrases are used in the daily life of Spain, but in Mexico it is not a common thing, let alone in the classrooms,” the teaching person said.
“But regardless of that,” he added, “how are you going to teach some students rudeness? Not in English, not in Spanish, not in Mexico. We are talking about a school-school edife and not learning what is said in the neighborhood. They were not careful to review the material and so they didn’t realize that there are things that are not suitable for students.”

In addition to the fifth-grade English book, teachers at CECyTE BC said that the company Da Vinci High Quality Impressions and Finishes also edited the books of Mathematics and Biology for CECyTE campuses in Baja California.
This company was registered in 2011 in the register of suppliers of the College of Technical Professional Education (Conalep), of the state of Nayarit, but as a supplier of aluminum for school furniture, a different turn from that of editing educational text books.
