translated from Spanish: CDMX enlists operational by feminist march; women ask for no cops

The government of Mexico City prepares a special operation for the march that feminist groups will conduct on Monday at 5 p.m., after the organizers asked the authorities to “avoid the police presence”.
A few days ago the collectives announced that the route of the march will be from the Angel of Independence to the capital Zocalo and urged the federal and local governments not to send police, because the presence of these, they said, would be an act of provocation.
This march will be within the framework of the International Day of Non-Violence against Women, which is commemorated every 25 November.
At a press conference, activists said they are not shock groups and will march “with absolute demand in defending all women’s rights.”
Rosa Salazar, a member of feminist earthquake, declared that there is harthazion in women for impunity in the face of violations of their rights.
“We are aware of the anger of our colleagues and in that sense we call that the safety of our contingents is in charge of the collectives,” he said.
Rosa added that the collectives will place security cords and that any kind of provocation can “come from the state and not from the manifestation.”
Angélica Sánchez, of the National Coordinator of Users in Resistance, asked the media not to criminalize the demonstrations and that the coverage of the march be done by women, as it is a way of claiming the labor rights of journalists.
Faced with these requests, the CDMX head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced that a special security strategy is being prepared to address the demonstration.
The representative detailed that the design of the security strategy was headed by the secretariats of Government and Citizen Public Security.
Sheinbaum said that there is no intended to criminalize the protest, but that a number of measures will be taken to avoid actions that may have an impact on the aggression of people, “which is the part that we don’t think should happen.”
“I repeat: we neither criminalize nor suppress, but we will take a series of measures to help us, above all, to ensure that there is no aggression against people,” he reiterated.
He detailed that to address this issue he also works with the Commission on Human Rights of Mexico City and with some civil organizations.
The head of government said that until this Sunday the Secretariat of Government will release the operation that will be carried out on Monday.
