World.- Three nursing home workers have been sentenced to prison for mistreating a 94-year-old woman named Panibel Shah. Events occurred in the 2017 London borough of Brent.
Initially, both the children and grandchildren of the 94-year-old woman believed that the old woman’s allegations were due to the dementia she suffered. However, as the days went by they were able to observe bruises and wounds on his body. It was then that a son and a grandson of the nonagenaria placed a recording camera in a photo frame that was in the room where she was admitted.
He recorded the workers at the residence insulting, threatening, beating and pouring boiling water on panibel Shah’s body. Two years later, the trial for the abuse suffered has taken place.
It was in this same litigation that the judge in charge of the case has issued a prison order to the workers for six, five and four months. In addition, workers must pay compensation to the family and will not be able to work as assistants in nursing homes.
