The members of the LeBarón family who met on Monday with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador were happy about the progress that there are in the investigations into the murder of nine of their relatives.
Leaving the National Palace, Adrián LeBarón stated that they were not given “finger atole (…) If there are progress, we are happy with the results to date of the investigation, but we cannot say more because it is dangerous even to ourselves.”
Adrián added that they agreed to a new meeting with the president within a month to review the new developments.

“I know this is calm and we are willing to wait, ” he said.
On Sunday, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported the arrest of “several individuals” involved in the murder of the nine members of the LeBarón family, which occurred on November 4in in the municipality of Bavispe, Sonora.
In a statement, the FGR details that in conjunction with the Army and intelligence work a man was arrested, “derived from it, and from other investigative actions, has been obtained, fundamental information and evidence”.

According to the unit in an operation that also involved elements of the Army, Federal Police and National Guard, arrest warrants were served against several individuals.
Also, this Sunday members of the LeBarón family marched through Paseo de la Reforma to demand from the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador justice and a change in security strategy.
