Mexico City– Mexico and the NBA are each intertwining their agreements and this time Mexico City received the first of two NBA regular-season games between the Mavericks and Pistons where moments before the duel agreement was reached that Mexico will be a slam dune official team in the NBA Development League, G-League. “We are excited to officially announce that from this day Mexico will have a team in the NBA G-League and are the first country outside the United States and Canada to do so. This demonstrates the NBA’s great commitment to Mexico, a relationship that reaches 30 games this year and we will remain united for a long time,” said Adam Silver, who said the deal so far is for 5 years.
The selected team has as its headquarters the Juan de la Barrera Gymnasium which will be remodeled for the occasion.
