The Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) issued an alert for 382 Nissan Máxima vehicles, models 2016 to 2018,  
According to the automotive car force, the possible failure is in the pump retainer of the anti-lock brake system (ABS) actuator, as it may have brake fluid leakage and cause the warning indication to be ignited.

“If the vehicle is still operated in this condition, the brake fluid leak can create an electric short in the ABS actuator circuit, which in exceptional cases could lead to a thermal incident,” the Attorney General’s Office explained in a statement.

According to the authorities, it is possible to prevent failure by replacing the ABS actuator and changing the brake fluid, which will have no cost to the owners. 
If you own one of these models, Profeco recommends that you contact Nissan Mexicana and provide the Vehicle Identification Number (NIV) to confirm if your unit requires service.
