The Mexican City Mobility Secretariat (Semovi) announced that from January 30, the previous cards will stop working and lose their balance, so only the Integrated Mobility Card will operate.

The mobility authorities noted that it is important for users to spend their entire balance by 30 January, as “it cannot be transferred from old cards to new ones”; the current cost of new plastic is 15 pesos plus the payment of the first trip.
“As of January 31, old cards will be useless in their entirety. On this date the exclusive use of the Mobility card Integrated in Metro and Light Rail begins. In addition, the new card will already be in operation for this date on the Central Axis Trolleybus and on the BIcentennial Circuit RTP bus route. By this date, old cards will no longer be recharged or used to access these transport systems,” the unit explained in a statement.

In the case of RTP routes and in the first weeks of operation of the Central Axis Trolleybus, there will be a mixed payment system “to facilitate the transition to the new card”. While metro paper tickets will continue to operate normally.
Until December 31, the government of Mexico City maintained a promotion to acquire the new Mobility card, with a cost of 5 pesos or free redemption for two previous access cards.
