State authorities reported on Monday that the grandfather of the 11-year-old boy who shot at a school in Torreón, Coahuila, was arrested on January 10.
The two weapons that the child activated on nine occasions against a teacher and six others, the State Prosecutor’s Office, were his grandfather’s, and he did not have the corresponding permits.
The owner of the Prosecutor’s Office, Gerardo Márquez Guevara, detailed that the grandfather of the 11-year-old boy, José Angel “N”, is charged with the murder of the teacher, allegedly having incurred an omission and having been negligent in the possession of weapons in his home.
Marquez Guevara said they have already made requests to the United States to determine how the weapons came to the country.
The official added that, according to early research data, it is presumed that the youngest who shot at the school would have had some training or practice with air weapons in the past.
