Senator Damian Zepeda, a member of the Jucopo, told the media that the prosecutor left them “literally waiting.”
“We do not explain what happened, the meeting today was called for this. I think the government needs to explain why they didn’t show up, but, well, when it’s done we’ll look at it with a purpose,” he said.
During the meeting and in front of senators and members of the federal cabinet, Gertz Manero highlighted the proposal to issue the National Law on Civic Justice, which will strengthen the fight against everyday events that can become crimes.
According to the Attorney General of the Republic, this law prioritizes immediate compensation for damage, which promotes community work rather than fines and rescues first-of-chiefs.

Regarding the proposal to create the National Penal Code, Gertz indicated that this homologate crimes that are now scattered in 32 different state codes, such as femicides.
