Gerardo Morales, Governor of the province of Jujuy, announced the production of Argentina’s first medicinal cannabis oil during a tour of the production area. Morales noted that “Jujuy is generating a milestone in this type of production, which not only serves health, but also constitutes an alternative of productive diversification”
“This is one of the emblematic projects of the province”.
The governor further noted that “the project is progressing quite well, stressing that two greenhouses are already in place and more are going to be installed. It is an initial project that provides for 35 hectares.”
Upon being consulted on the safety of the facilities, Morales clarified “that there is a permanent police presence with 14 troops per shift.” A major security system was installed with security cameras, perimeter alarms, a special detachment of policing with important monitoring of national security forces, to which the corresponding authorizations of the INTA, Ministry of Health, the National Seed Institute (INASE) and other national agencies that gave the initiative the go-ahead.”
