The POI launched an online platform for the reporting of misconduct by officials, joining the initiative implemented by Carabineros in September. The civilian police took this measure to modernize due to the National Agreement for Public Security (ANSP), allowing them to report officials of the institution. Interior Minister Gonzalo Blumel, present at the launch of the tool, commented that “this is very important because of the current contingency (…) It is something that we have been developing before, but after October 18 has become a priority issue.” Within that context, the portfolio holder added: “They are relevant tools. International organizations that have been in the country in dD. Hh. they have also recommended moving in this direction.” In this way, the institution’s page now has a section that allows anonymous reporting, using a unique key. The event was also the deputy prefect Karina Castro, who commented that “the processing of the claim will depend on the circumstances, but we estimate that about 15, 20 days, the citizen may have an answer”.
