Mexico gave the green light to the arrival of the cruiser Meraviglia, with 6,000 passengers, which had been rejected because one of its crew members was believed to be infected with the coronavirus.
After being stranded for several hours on Wednesday, port authorities have authorized the docking of the cruise ship in Cozumel, Quintana Roo State, in the Mexican Caribbean. The tourist boat came from Jamaica, where it received the refusal even though there was no confirmed case on board.
The ship also heard a no in the Cayman Islands. At first, the Mexican port authorities had refused arrival, but upon confirmation that the patient did not have the virus from Wuhan they rectified. The authorization, however, depends on the cruise being free of health risk, Quintana Roo governor Carlos Joaquín reported. Meraviglia is located in front of Cozumel.
