President Alberto Fernández asked tonight “not to be afraid of business closures or supply,” after many citizens turned to supermarkets to buy groceries.
The head of state was thus expressed in the framework of a press conference he gave from Quinta de Olivos, accompanied by the governor of Buenos Aires and the head of government of the City, in which measures were announced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the Country.
“Argentina of the living is over; I’m warning that no one goes alive,” said the representative, who called on people to “not be afraid of oversupply or potential business closures because it’s not what’s being anticipated” between the measures. In addition, as there are allegations of price increases under the current situation, Fernandez clarified that “he is already working (the Minister of Productive Development of the Nation, Matías) Kulfas with the Secretariat of Commerce”.
“Argentina cannot be a country of living and foolishness,” said the president, who emphasized that “we are all having a hard time” and raised that “it is not possible for them to take advantage of this circumstance to raise prices.” In this regard, he clarified that it returns “everything to the zero point” in terms of the prices of gel alcohol and barbijos, and stated that, for this purpose, the Competition Law is being “enforced”.
