translated from Spanish: QRoo governor ‘exhorts’ to close bars and clubs before COVID-19

The governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquín, urged the owners of bars, clubs and commercial squares of the entity to close the next few weeks, in an effort to contain the contagions of COVID-19.
“We have to reduce the possibility of contagion, it is time for social estrangement to stop progress of #covid_19 in #QuintanaRoo, so I urge casinos, bars, nightclubs, cinemas, commercial places, religious places, etc., to be closed for the next few weeks,” the governor posted on Twitter.
“And let us avoid contact between people and the possibilities of contagion to our society. We must all be responsible and supportive of our Quintessian families. The better we do these actions the faster we can get out of this contingency,” he added.
Quintana Roo is a state known for its tourist activity, in places such as Cancun or Bacalar, however COVID-19 has reduced all kinds of public activities.
Just last March 9, the governor presumed that Quintana Roo is the state that receives the largest number of international tourists in Mexico, with about 20 percent of the total.
In 2019, the bank received an economic spill of more than $15 billion, “in addition to surpassing 15 million tourists and 22.8 million visitors, to consolidate itself as the number one in the country.”
On Monday, health authorities confirmed 22 positive cases of COVID-19 in Quintana Roo. Of these, 14 were foreign patients and 8 Mexicans. 19 of the cases had occurred in Cancun.
On Sunday in the Quintana Roo count there were 12 positive cases.
