The organization’s spokesman argued that neglecting the petition “is an act that shows a serious lack of solidarity with others. Diametrically opposed to the doctrine preached in temples,” he said, referring to the expansion of the coronavirus.
The National Council of Evangelical Churches called on the different congregations to cancel and suspend meetings in their temples. The determination was made in order to prevent coronavirus infection. The application takes place after the case of a church was known in San Pedro de la Paz, in the Biobio Region, where a focus of the disease was recorded. The organization’s spokesman, Walter Wega, stated that “we make a perentory call to all churches, temples, classes and centers that practice Protestant evangelical worship to suspend all meetings independent of their nature and number of congregates”, he said, as he assigned a Cooperative. In doing so, he added that “nothing compels us to neglect the recommendations of the health authority. Insisting on meetings is not only an irrational act in view of the times the country lives. It is an act that shows a serious lack of solidarity with others. Diametrically opposed to the doctrine preached in temples,” he replied.
