In recent days, there have been a number of lootings to supermarkets, commercial establishments and convenience stores, in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, so there are already 61 detainees. 
The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in the capital reported that 42 people were arrested between 23 and 24 March for theft of these shops.
In addition, the detainees were secured firearms, replica firearms, useful cartridges, as well as vehicles, motorcycles and a mototaxi.
Among the stolen and recovered items are alcoholic beverages in different presentations, refreshing beverages, cigarette packs, alkaline batteries, snacks, clothing, tennis and cell phone equipment.

In these two days, the SSC dealt with 19 assault and robbery reports, in 10 town halls: six in Iztapalapa; three in Cuauhtémoc; two in Miguel Hidalgo and Iztacalco.
And a complaint in Azcapotzalco, Venustiano Carranza, Gustavo A. Madero, Tláhuac, Tlalpan and Benito Juárez, respectively.
The authorities strengthened the police presence in the immediate establishments, deploying 2,868 vehicles and 6,200 police.
Bank branches, ATMs, commercial places, popular markets, restaurants, hotels, among others, where there is still commercial and financial activity, are also monitored,

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported that 19 people, two of them women and 17 men, have been arrested for their involvement in looting. 
People were arrested for the likely commission of the crimes of robbery with violence, as well as provocation of the crime and apology thereof.

In total, 18 research folders have been integrated, four of them were started in Tecámac; three in Ecatepec; two in Naucalpan; two in Cuautitlán; one in Nezahualcóyotl; one in Nicolas Romero; one in Tultitlán: one in Texcoco; one in Amecameca; one in Ixtapaluca and one in Chalco.
The Security Secretariat and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, in coordination with municipal corporations and the National Guard, carry out surveillance operations in the entity. 
National Guard to support looting
Following the looting that has been recorded, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that the National Guard will work with state governments to combat these thefts.
The federal representative said he instructed elements of the National Guard to work in operations and thus support local governments in the face of such events that have been recorded in some points of the State of Mexico and the capital of the country.
At his press conference on Wednesday, he called the looting of self-service chains a crime and said that in some cases it is induced to generate chaos, because there are networks that act that way and are facing.
Faced with the different cases of looting that have been recorded in full contingency by the coronavirus in the country, the governments of Mexico City, Puebla and the State of Mexico have taken steps to prevent further registration.
These entities are the first cases in different municipalities and town halls, and not only to self-service stores, but also to technology shops and convenience stores.
