A second patient with COVID-19 coronavirus died in Jalisco state early on Thursday, the government reported.
At a press conference, Jalisco Health Secretary Fernando Petersen detailed that the patient was a 55-year-old man who was admitted to an ISSSTE clinic.

Petersen added that the patient had been in intensive care for a few days and had hypertension.
The health secretary reported that this patient reportedly had contact with the first patient who died last Monday at an IMSS clinic.
That patient was also 55 years old and had a history of diabetes and obesity.
In its last court, the Jalisco Ministry of Health has a record of 57 positive cases, as well as 225 suspected cases, pending confirmation or discarding.

On Thursday, the Government of Jalisco will begin the application of rapid testing, to detect, care for and isolate people who are carriers of COVID-19 coronavirus.
Governor Enrique Alfaro argued that this measure is taken on the basis of recommendations from the University of Guadalajara, as well as international organizations.
Federal Health Authorities reported on Wednesday about 6 deaths in Mexico from COVID-19 and 475 confirmed cases. In addition, there are 1,656 suspected cases under investigation.
