translated from Spanish: They prohibit hotels from making reservations; they will only be able to host for work

The Tourism and Health Secretariats published a protocol for hotels that will continue operations during the coVID-19 health emergency period.
The document states that reservations for hotels, travel agencies or any hosting platform are prohibited until the contingency is complete.
However, it details, hotels will be able to accommodate business travelers, provided they demonstrate the reasons for work, so they will need proof from the company. The maximum occupancy will be 15%.

“The State Secretariats of Tourism in coordination with the National Associations of the hotel industry will define a list of lodging centres aimed at concentrating all domestic and foreign guests with respiratory symptoms (Hotel COVID) and foreign guests without respiratory symptoms (Hotel NO COVID) as they await the support of their respective governments for their repatriation process,” the protocol says.
The mobilization of people in the lodging centers during the contingency will be strictly limited to the rooms in which they are located.
In addition, hotels must close sports and social facilities such as: swimming pools, gyms, spa, restaurants, entertainment centers, business rooms, etc.
The protocol also states that foreign citizens who are in Mexican national territory in lodging centers will be required to communicate with their diplomatic representations to begin their paperwork back home.

It also details how to disinfect rooms routinely and stipulates that when a room that has housed people with suspicion or confirmation of COVID-19 is vacated, a thorough cleaning and disinfection must be carried out before it is again occupied by another person.
