For the attack on Maria Elena, the Prosecutor’s Office has arrested two other men, identified as material perpetrators and who will be prosecuted under the crime of attempted femicide.
The victim’s sister has protection from the municipal and ministerial police, because of the threats the family has received.
María Elena Ríos was attacked with acid on September 11, 2019, a fact she pointed out Juan N, a gas station entrepreneur, a former deputy from the PRI and his former partner as an intellectual manager.
The Authorities in Oaxaca are still looking for two people identified as intermediaries in the attack.
