As with Barcelona footballers, Real Madrid football and basketball squads agreed to reduce their salaries to collaborate with the institution amid the parate of sports competitions and activities for the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19). As announced by the institution in a statement, the players, technicians and chief executives of the various management of the club, made the decision to reduce between 10% and 20% of their salaries.

“This decision, taken by players, coaches and employees, avoids traumatic measures that affect the rest of the workers, as well as contributing to the economic objectives of the entity in the face of the decrease in income that these months suffers as a result of the suspension of competitions and the paralysis of much of its commercial activities”, explains the letter. On the other hand, the club wanted a speedy recovery to all the sick and thanked health workers who fought the pandemic. “From Real Madrid, all our support and strength with the conviction that together we will certainly overcome this difficult moment,” the statement closes.
