According to the Secretary of Economic Development, Fadlala Akabani, so far 175 hotels joined the initiative, with more than 1,500 rooms for doctors and nurses who so require.

According to the Secretariat for Economic Development, physicians who want to access this aid must submit a letter from the hospital proving that the person works on site, as well as a job ID.
NL hotels also stand in solidarity
This initiative also occurs in Nuevo León, where hotels that host medical and nursing personnel fighting COVID-19 do not charge for service.
For this reason, the deputies of Nuevo León proposed this April 16 reforms for the local government to grant them the accommodation tax.
Lawmaker Marlene Benvenutti Villarreal felt that if employers are helping to cope with health contingency, the government should give back in the same proportion.
“We are going to ask hotels to open their doors and that those who support will be exempted for up to twelve months to pay the Lodging Tax, it is a very good way to incentivize hoteliers,” the panista legislator said.
The document submitted proposes to amend Articles 180, 181, 182 and 183 of the State Finance Act to exempt from this levy, throughout 2021.
