translated from Spanish: Ministry of Health highlights start of rapid testing on health officials

During the delivery of COVID-19’s daily report of the situation in the country, the Minister of Health, Jaime Mañalich, referred to the rapid tests that are being applied to health personnel to detect the presence of antibodies against infection.
“The Ministry of Health has received a donation of 500,000 antibody screening tests, technically called immunoglobulin-G and immunoglobulin-M, for the detection in people’s blood if they have a defense response that says they have already gone through the disease,” the secretary of state said.
Mañalich explained that this test allows to diagnose asymptomatic people. “It will also help monitor health officials and make security measures work and also conduct rapid testing of people who had close contact with someone infected and who did not have a PCR test,” he added.
The Secretary of State reiterated that a “Alta Card” will be delivered to all people who had a symptomatic or asymptomatic infection. “To all these people, I mean, whether they had a symptomatic or asymptomatic infection they will be given, when there was a positive PCR, a high card saying “effectively, you had the disease.” People who had no symptoms but now have antibodies, especially IgG positive, will also be given a high card,” he said.
Furthermore, the authority reported that the delivery of Carnet COVID -19 will be postponed. “We have been shown that a problem of discrimination could be triggered. in the sense that it could happen that a person who is given a COVID-19 Cardt has in front of another who does not have it, certain privileges when it comes to, for example, being hired, rehired in his work, entering a public premises,” he explained.
