Morelia, Michoacán.- The Government of Morelia, headed by the municipal president, Raúl Morón Orozco, reported that through the Secretariat of Mobility and Public Space (SEMOVEP), it initiated the first series of actions at street level to make a direct call and remind citizens of the importance of remaining at their home as part of the #QuédateEnCasa campaign of the National Day of Healthy Physical Distance.

In view of the measures that the Government of Morelia implements on the recommendation of the federation before phase 3 by COVID-19 and to reinforce the main safeguard measure, interventions contain the message “Stay at Home” and thus be visible to the population still passing through the streets.
In total there will be five vialities involved in this way, in which a higher vehicle load has been detected in recent days. The streets are: Avenida Acueducto, Avenida Camelinas, Avenida Madero, Calzada La Huerta and Libramiento.

It is of paramount importance to resume and maintain the corresponding health contingency measures, since 29 April SEMOVEP detected a reduction in the behaviour of urban mobility in Morelia and that until this Monday, 18 May, there was a reduction of only 15 percent. This number of relaxation to contingency measures by the population is comparable to that before the above date there was a greater reduction of up to 40 per cent vehicular load.
SEMOVEP invites citizens to recognize that those transfers necessary for citizenship are merely essential, opt for local consumption and use alternative modes of transport, such as walking or cycling in order to cope in the most appropriate way the health contingency we go through.
