translated from Spanish: Wanted: Iran issued arrest warrant against Donald Trump over Soleimani’s death

Iran has requested Interpol to arrest US President Donald Trump and 35 other U.S. leaders for the death in January of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in a drone strike in Baghdad, the Iranian attorney general said monday.
“Thirty-six people who participated in the assassination of Jajj Ghasem (General Qasem Soleimani), including political and military leaders from the United States and other governments, have been identified,” said Tehran Attorney General Aliasi Mehr.
“The judicial authority has issued a warrant and has demanded a red notification from Interpol for these people,” he added, stating that they are wanted for “murder” and “terrorist action.”
Interpol has stated that under article 3 of its Constitution, the organization cannot intervene in a “political, military, religious or racial” framework and that it will not examine any such request, without first explicitly confirming that it has been requested by Iran.
A red notice is a request to law enforcement around the world to temporarily locate and detain a person awaiting extradition, surrender or similar legal action.
“At the top of the list is US President Donald Trump, who will be persecuted even after the end of his term,” the prosecutor said, referring to the November presidential election in which he aspires to re-elect.
The attorney general made this statement during a meeting of the High Judicial Council chaired by the head of the Iranian judicial system, Ebrahim Raisi.
General Qasem Soleimani, head of the Qods Force, an elite unit in charge of the outer forces of the Guardians of the Revolution, was killed on 3 January in a drone strike near Baghdad International Airport, along with his assistant, The Iraqi Abu Mehdi al Muhandis, leader of the pro-Iranian paramilitaries there.
Trump later assured that he had ordered his elimination as he prepared “imminent” attacks on U.S. diplomats and military.
In retaliation, Iran launched missiles on January 8 against Iraqi military bases housing Americans, causing significant damage even though no U.S. military was killed, according to Washington.
