If the election of the next president were today, there would be a tie, according to the last Criteria survey, for June 2020. First, the mayor of Las Condes, Joaquín Lavín, and his pair of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue, are tied.
Unlike previous measurements, Lavin drops by four percentage points, to be 12% first. In parallel, Jadue climbed four points, to also reach 12% of mentions to the open question “who would you like to be the next president or president of Chile after Sebastián Piñera?”
Further behind is the leader of the Republican Party, José Antonio Kast with 8%, the standard-bearer of Frente Broad, Beatriz Sánchez, with 7%, and the eco-player Franco Parisi, with 5%.
The president of the Medical College, Izkia Siches, who was spontaneously mentioned for the first time in the previous edition of the survey, rose by one percentage point, remaining in 4% of the preferences.
The two new names that add to the list are the former Minister of Social Development and current president of BancoEstado, Sebastián Sichel, with 3% preferences, and the deputy and president of Renovación Nacional, Mario Desbordes, with 2%.
