translated from Spanish: will open theaters at 30% of their capacity

For the ninth time, Mexico City will remain at orange light next week.
Head of government Claudia Sheinbaum said this week’s traffic light will be alerted because “there has been a slow rate of decline in contagion” and there was a slight increase in hospitalizations.
“It’s important to put an alert. We still have beds in hospitals but we don’t want to go back to a growth trend,” he said at a news conference.

Sheinbaum called “don’t let your guard down” and continue with sanitary measures to avoid returning to the red light.
He said that “the chain of contagion and hospitalization have not been overwhelmed, nor can we talk about outbreaks in the city, what happened is that the speed in reducing hospitalizations has slowed down.”
He explained that this is important because by slowing down this speed, which was going down and now remains constant, it means that “we are in a condition where it can start to rise and that’s what we don’t want.”
The official reiterated that she would follow attention in priority areas and be extended to 158 colonies to identify positive cases and isolate them in order to prevent contagion.
In addition, there will be community-focused interventions for colonies with more density and case stability such as public transport surveillance, stockings, pulveries, tianguis and markets, public trade selling food prepared especially in the afternoon/night and weekends.
Theatres open
Sheinbaum reported that from Thursday 27 August, theatres will open with strict sanitary measures and a capacity of 30% in enclosed spaces, and 40% in open spaces.
Entries must be upon registration and the public must use face-cover at all times.
Spaces must comply with appropriate sanitary measures and there will be filters to detect people with symptoms.
The maximum duration of the theatrical activity should be 1 hour 30 minutes.

In Mexico City, 89,421 contagions and 10,038 deaths per COVID-19 have already been totaled.
