A Spanish driver was arrested after hiding his vehicle’s patent to avoid fines with a system similar to that used by Agent 007. A few years ago something similar happened in Argentina. The system was operated with a remote key-like command, and thus the patent data was concealed in certain circumstances to avoid a possible fine After several months of an investigation, which began when a citizen notice that saw a vehicle with the rear patent covered, the authorities were able to find the infringer. He now faces a penalty for “driving with the redesigned vehicle carrying a radar inhibitor or any other mechanism installed to interfere with the proper functioning of traffic surveillance systems.”
It was 2011 and in Argentina a concessionaire owner was intercepted in West Access by a Volkswagen Bora, from which the assailants came down. However, the man I can evade them and when he tried to write down the patent and then make the complaint he realized it was hidden. There it was known that it was a widely used device known as “low electrical patent” or in jargon as “James Bond System”. The device has three variants: the most common that lowers the sheet metal, a more sophisticated one that changes it side by a false numbering and a third in which several dots prevent the display.
An Argentine couple had been arrested in Brazil for the same reason.
