translated from Spanish: Masters of the CNTE take train tracks in Michoacán; call for job improvements

Members of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) blocked this Monday on various train tracks to demand better working conditions and that teachers with state key be treated as teachers of federal position.
Among other things, teachers also demand that a commoner, a teacher, and eight normalists who were arrested for participating in another road blockade in Uruapan be released.
At the moment, the teachers keep the roads of the municipality of Pátzcuaro blocked; New Italy, municipality of Múgica; Caltzontzin, Uruapan, and the Maravatío roads.
According to the quadratín Michoacán news agency, teachers also plan to block the tracks in Lázaro Cárdenas and Yurécuaro.
A group of teachers also showed up on the Tres Puentes track in Morelia, but so far they have not been blocked because they are protected by elements of the Michoacán Police.
Although not all points have been taken, blockades in New Italy and Pátzcuaro have caused at least six trains with goods to be stranded.
The Association of Industrialists of the State of Michoacán (AIEMAC) reported that three of these trains come from Monterrey and that the losses caused by these blockades can be between 30 and 50 million pesos.
At his morning conference on Monday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador noted that federal corporations would not perform a special operation before the CNTE’s threats to block the tracks and called for dialogue to reach a solution.
“We’re not going to repress. Don’t let them be manipulated, let them be just causes for protest,” the president said without delving further into the issue.
For his part, the governor of Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles, thanked López Obrador for mentioning the situation but asked him to help them meet the demands of the CNTE and the normalists.

Mr @lopezobrador_, I was attentive to what you said in the morning about railroad closures; I thank you for understanding the serious harm that this causes to Michoacán and the country at large, and I ask you to help us with the demands of the CNTE and normalists.
