translated from Spanish: Senator Chahuán moves to RN Supreme Court after issuing criticism of current party board

Senator RN Francisco Chahuán moved to his party’s Supreme Court after issuing criticism of the current National Directive.
The MP was about the idea of not postponing the party’s internal elections, so he entered three requirements into the TS for the elections to be ratified on 5 December. However, the general council confirmed that they would be postponed until the end of 2021.
Chahuán, in his speech where he reported these requirements, added that “here is an attempt to extend the mandate of the table that violates what has been the democratic vocation of National Renewal and that is why we have asked the Supreme Court of the party to ratify December 5 as the election date for the national directive of the party and also to rule on the possibility of dividing the elections of the national directive of the rest of the party’s stays.”
“We believe without a doubt that RN must have an empowered, democratically elected directive to take on the challenge of the seven elections coming for next year and the election cycle can confirm that RN is Chile’s largest party and for that it is necessary to have a directive that is democratically elected and for the same reason we call so that there is no attempt to extend the mandate of the current table for a year which would certainly be affecting the institutionality of the party,” he added that week.
In a document issued by the TS, they state that “in a session of September 17, 2020, of the content of a video corresponding to a press point made by Senator Francisco Chahuán Chahuán, in which qualifications are eventually made to the current National Directive, its members, proceed and alleged purposes of these, it is agreed to include in the table of the next session of the court the analysis of said video”.
The decision was agreed by the members of the Supreme Court: David Huina (president); Gonzalo Cisternas (Vice-President); Rodrigo Barrientos; undersecretary of Crime Prevention Katherine Martorell and José Ignacio Pinochet.
