Mexico.- Although Mexico is considered one of the countries most at risk to exercise the defense of freedom of expression and human rights profession; on Tuesday night, the Budget Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Union Congress decided to approve the opinion for the elimination of the Human Rights Defenders and Journalists Fund, which amounts to 250.3 million pesos. Next Thursday he will move to the plenary for his vote.
According to official data, this trust is made up of approximately 1,206 people, of whom 820 are human rights defenders, and 396 are journalists (396) threatened by their activities or work, as well as some displaced from their home entities by violence.
