Mexico.- The general director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Maestro Zoé Robledo, announced that in the coming days 640 doctors, doctors, nurses and nurses of the institution will arrive from various entities in mexico City to strengthen the capacity of care for patients with COVID-19 in the capital of the country.
During the start of operations of the Tláhuac General Hospital of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE), the holder of Social Security stated that this staff comes from several states, in particular in the southeast of the country: Campeche, Yucatan, Chiapas and Veracruz, where there is a down situation in the contagions of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
He added that health professionals from Colima, Nayarit, Jalisco and Coahuila will also join, “it is an act of solidarity that has always characterized us all as a people in Mexico and could not be the exception. In this last pull we still stand and stay together.”
In this sense, Zoé Robledo emphasized that from the beginning of the pandemic, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador instructed that it be worked as a single health system.
“Perhaps the place where this has best been expressed is here in Mexico City, where together with the head of government, leading these coordination efforts, we have achieved what was thought impossible: that a fragmented system acted as a single health system,” he emphasized.
The Director General of IMSS stressed that at this stage of the pandemic the indication is that there is no lack of beds, continue to grow and convert so that no one runs out of attention.
He said that while the heroes of this pandemic are fatigued they have not given up and that is why they should be supported as much as possible. “Today more than ever the recognition and thanks to the health personnel, to them who have been there, who have been on the front line.”
Health Secretary Jorge Alcocer Varela was present at the event; Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo; isSSTE holder Luis Antonio Ramírez Pineda, the holder of the Institute of Health for Welfare, Juan Antonio Ferrer Aguilar, among others.
