Last September, the Second Collegiate Criminal Court of Toluca ordered the admission of the protection. Faced with this, according to information from the newspaper Reform, a judge last October agreed to the admission of his claim for guarantees, in compliance with the court’s ruling.
This is one of two apprehensions submitted by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in order to obtain the extradition of Tomas Yarrington. 
According to the FGR, “the testaferros bought Yarrington an apartment on Father’s Island, Texas, for $450,000; El Mirador ranch, 500 hectares, at 6.7 million pesos; and the 100-hectare El Colmenar ranch, at 6 million pesos, the latter two in Soto la Marina, Tamaulipas,” reports the same medium.
On April 20, 2018, Italy extradited the former representative to the United States, did not do so to Mexico, he argued, “because of the poor humanitarian conditions of his prisons.” For now, Yarrington is in a trial in Texas, being tried for drug trafficking and money laundering.
