A Spanish laboratory has disclosed that a model has been made that can help predict obesity. This model is based on prediction with models of pigs since the digestive system of humans and these animals are similar. The study was conducted by the laboratory of Spanish origin, Ordesa, which is dedicated to the manufacture of nutrition, health and wellness products and published in the journal The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry.

The goal is to better modulate resilience to different types of diseases and help prevent pathologies, including obesity,” says José Antonio Moreno, researcher at Laboratorios Ordesa. Since 1975, obesity has nearly tripled worldwide. In 2016, more than 1900 million adults age 18 and older were overweight, of whom more than 650 million were obese.
