The former president of the nation, Carlos Menem, continues to stay at the Los Arcos clinic in Palermo’s Buenos Aires neighborhood. According to sources close to the family, the former representative is in a delicate state, but with a slight improvement. The senator for the province of La Rioja is sedated by medication in an internment that takes more than 10 days, in the company of his former wife Zulema Yoma and his daughter Zulemita Menem. From his inner circle they told Télam that: “The state of health of Carlos can be said to be well, better, although he is deeply asleep with the medication. Let’s hope it keeps evolving.” It is worth remembering that Menem was admitted to the Los Arcos clinic on December 15 because of a urinary tract infection and an acceleration in his heart rate, a picture that became difficult for him after suffering kidney failure on December 24. On her presence in the vote for legalizing voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVE), her daughter Zulema still speculates on the possibility that her father may vote remotely at the Senate session on December 29. However, these days, there is no certainty that Carlos Menem will be in a position to participate in the meeting considering that it is only three days before it takes place. The senator’s position on this is against the legalization of the IVE.
