It has been said many times and I repeat it (…) Mexico and Argentina are sister nations. Our peoples have always fought for freedom, justice and democracy, for the defense of sovereignty, and on not a few occasions those struggles have been intertwined,” he said.

During the event, in which the traditional hoisting of the Monumental Flag took place, the representative also reviewed the history of the Iguala Plan, with which the insurgents and the realists, led by Vicente Guerrero and Agustín de Iturbide, respectively, thus realizing the Independence of Mexico were reconciled.Commitment on the Ayotzinapa case
Similarly, AMLO recalled that in Iguala the disappearance of the 43 normalists of Ayotzinapa took place in September 2014, restraining their commitment to clarify the case and do justice.” It would be unforgivable to be in this city without recalling the unfortunate event of September 26, 2014, when they were repressed and disappeared here in Iguala young students of the Rural Normal of Ayotzinapa. That day authoritarianism showed its sinister face again and the government’s complicity with organized crime became apparent, so it was intended to deceive with the so-called ‘historical truth’,” he said. The president assured that this infamous “truth” has been falling with recent investigations, but the pact of silence and criminal complicity prevails, so that “even with 82 detainees and the offer of protection and reward, few of them speak and we do not yet know for sure where the students of Ayotzinapa are.” Read more: Ricardo Monreal proposes to include sign language in educational programs in MexicoAndrés Manuel López Obrador endorsed his government’s commitment to continue with theinvestigations until he found the 43 normalists and did justice, so he pledged that he would work in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, the Judiciary and the Sedena to bring the truth to the parents of the students.
I come to Iguala again to endorse our commitment not to cry out and move on until we know the truth, find the young people, and punish those responsible. The case of Ayotzinapa is a thorn that we bring nailed to the soul,” AMLO said.
