translated from Spanish: Although femicide in CDMX dropped, crimes vs. intimacy increased

Mexico City saw a decrease in the incidence of femicides, as well as sexual harassment; however, it increased its percentage in gender-sensitive crimes such as human trafficking and sexual intimacy.
This Thursday, representatives of the institutions involved in the fight against gender-based violence announced the criminal impact on women last February.
Compared to the same period last year, there was a 35.3% decrease in the daily incidence of femicides, as well as a 45.2% drop in sexual harassment.
Other down numbers were sexual abuse, with a decrease of 28.7% and injuries, with 36% less. The violation also fell by 2.1%.
Similarly, red numbers were not ruled out, with a 38.1% increase in the crime of intentional homicide, 3.8% in family violence and 3.6% in human trafficking.
But what took the highest percentage of growth was crimes against sexual intimacy, with 139.2% more than in February last year.

For its part, from 2019 to 2020 there was a slight increase in the creation of research folders on femicides, rape and family violence, with 2.78%, 2.6% and 5.4% respectively.
As for the investigation of femicide cases in 2020, in February of this year 66 research folders were detected and by 25 March eight others were added, resulting in 74 research folders.
The new cases had been typified as intentional homicide, or apparent suicides.
The efficiency of linkage to crimes – which encompasses investigative folders and linkage to process – reduced between February 2020 and February 2020 by 7.50% in femicides, 6.11% in crimes against sexual privacy and 2.81% in cases of sexual abuse.
The crimes that had the best percentage of linking efficiency were intentional homicide and sexual harassment, with 12.50% and 5.89%, respectively.
