This Friday, the president of the nation, Alberto Fernández, was invited to participate in the Leaders Summit on Climate Change by his American pair, Joe Biden.This summit, which will bring together the world’s leading leaders, will be held virtually between April 22 and 23 and will aim to implement measures on climate and environmental change that the planet suffers.
“As leaders, it is up to us to do everything in our power to stop this growing global threat in the face of the devastating impacts of climate change,” Biden conveyed to Fernandez in the invitation letter. In this way, Alberto Fernández will be one of the seven heads of state that will represent Latin America of the total of 40 representatives who will be present remotely. The other six countries are Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Antigua and Barbuda and Jamaica.Biden concluded: “In order to ensure that the summit also includes other important voices to understand and address this urgent challenge, I am inviting heads from other countries who have demonstrated strong climate leadership, are especially vulnerable to climate impacts, and are charting regulatory paths to a net zero economy.”
