The judge investigating the femicide of Pilar Riesco, the young woman who died falling from a balcony on March 15, 2020 in the New Pompeii neighborhood, ordered the arrest of her ex-boyfriend, the only one involved in her death.
Graciela Angulo de Quinn, a National Criminal and Correctional Judge 51 in charge of the investigation, declared Patricio Reynoso, the victim’s ex-partner, “in absentia”, and ordered her arrest. With this twist, summary secrecy was established in the cause.
Pilar Riesco was 21 when she died on March 15, 2020
Currently, Reynoso is formally fugitive from justice and weighs on him the prohibition of leaving the country. The change of situation for the only defendant in femicide came after several raids by the federal police and Bonaerense to find him unsuccessfully. As Reported by Télam, the raids took place at Reynoso’s residence in New Pompeii where Pilar lost his life, at the suspect’s parents’ house and in several commercial premises belonging to his family. He could not be located in any of them so he was declared a fugitive. Patricio Reynoso is charged with the “double-qualified murder by the bond and for having mediated gender-based violence” by his ex-girlfriend Pilar Riesco, who foresees the life imprisonment.

The man had already been detained for this case but was released by decision of the National Chamber of Appeals on criminal and correctional terms on the record that there were not enough merits to maintain with pre-order detention. This time, the judge again arranged Reynoso’s arrest following the incorporation of new evidence and since “there is a danger of escape in the face of a possible conviction of effective enforcement,” Télam said.
Pilar was studying Human Resources at the University of the Merchant Navy. I’ve been working in a bank recently. He was 21 when on March 15, 2020, he fell into a suspected fourth-floor episode of a New Pompeii department that he shared with his 31-year-old partner, Patrick King.
Pilar with Patrick Reynoso, only involved in his death
The episode occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to the investigations, Reynoso had returned from dancing around 8 a.m., went to bed and when he woke up began arguing with Pilar.According to the defendant, after the intense arguments, Riesco began to yell at him and tell him that she did not want him anymore after which she would have thrown herself off the balcony in a suicidal act.
This version was questioned by the prosecution and the complaint found in Pilar’s body multiple blows and injuries by a third party before falling into the void of the balcony address of department “E” on the fourth floor of Calle Alagón 305, in Nueva Pompeii.
