World.- Devotees of the late Prince Philip held a ceremony on Monday in his honor on Tanna Island of Vanuatu, in the South Pacific. The villagers held photographs of the late prince and talked about “opening the way for his spirit to grow,” according to images obtained by Reuters.
“We allow kava to clear the way to allow its spirit to return and live with us. The same spirit will grow within one of his family and one day we will reconnect the people of Tanna and England,” Chief Jack Malia told the villagers, talking about the traditional kava alcoholic beverage.

“He is dead but has a great family, who will live with his legacy. Look at all the pictures of him here. He’s a good man,” he added.
The late prince maintained a 50-year respectful relationship with the group that revered him based on a shared relationship of respect for tradition, in contrast to his history of racially insensitive commentary.
