The lawyer and candidate for conventional by the 7th arrondissement, Luis Cuello, asked Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN) to have a free reception signal where citizens can follow the sessions and commissions of the Convention.
“What citizenship demands is a participatory and transparent constituent process. We must make it easier for the debate on the New Constitution to reach all corners of Chile, that Chileans, Chileans and indigenous peoples are informed of all discussions. Fundamental decisions will be made here for people’s lives,” Cuello said.
He noted that “we demand that Televisión Nacional de Chile have a digital signal of free reception, where the sessions of the plenary and the committees of the Constitutional Convention are transmitted. On the one hand, this measure ensures the transparency of the process and, on the other hand, allows those living in the regions, throughout the country to be involved in the drafting of the New Constitution.”
For the lawyer “this is the time for the state channel to live up to the task and put the service of democracy and the aspiration of the vast majority to be the protagonist of Chile’s transformation”.
