For his part, director Adrián Alcalá explained that the reform of the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Act does not precisely establish which biometric data will be provided for the integration of the standard and the procedure for accessing them, so the principle of legal certainty could also be violated.
“What is put at risk is not your minor issue, it is the protection of personal data of millions of people in Mexico, your data, my data and all that we want and need to have a cell phone,” he added.

The argument for creating this new pattern was that it would help prosecute those responsible for crimes such as kidnapping and extortion.

However, Councillor Julieta del Río Venegas said that the direct relationship between the existence of that pattern and a better investigation and prosecution of crimes is unclear.
He said that while the purpose of the pattern was to facilitate the investigation and prosecution of crimes, the delivery of personal data to register a telephone line may not be appropriate.
Oscar Guerra Ford, noted that if some articles of the Constitution can be contravened with the reform of the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Act, so it must be the judiciary that will resolve it.
He added that the Court should define parameters and standards on the authorities’ action on the standard, which would give citizens greater certainty and confidence.
