translated from Spanish: wins 2 governorships, deputies and resurfaces in CDMX

In a scenario in which Morena managed to go from governing only one state to staying with at least 9 of the 15 that were contested in the election of this June 6, and the PRI is about to lose the 8 states it governed, the PAN was the only party that managed to retain part of what it had.
Queretaro won without allying with other parties, with Mauricio Kuri as a candidate, who swept 54% of the vote at the close of the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP), in addition to the fact that he will have a Congress completely painted blue.
He will also retain Chihuahua, where he was in alliance only with the PRD and his candidate Maru Campos has a lead of about 14 percentage points over his closest competitor. However, there the local councils were divided into 7 for Morena, 6 for the PAN, and 2 for the PRI.

The PAN loses, however, two other of the four governorships it had: Nayarit, where it came to power in 2017 supported by the PRD, and this time it did not reach him or also adding to the PRI; and Baja California Sur, where it had two governors in a row.

The great failure of the PAN’s alliance with the PRI and PRD was in Baja California, where the blanquiazul had its first governor in 1989 and ruled until 2013, and this time it remains in a distant third place by nominating the former Miss Universe Lupita Jones, who did not reach more than 12% of the votes —below the morenista winner , Marina Avila, and the ex-priista Jorge Hank Rhon, who was nominated by the PES-, and does not get a single local deputy, since they will all be for Morena.
Advance in local congresses
In the case of the local Congresses, the PAN endorsed its hegemony in almost all the states where it currently governs: Aguascalientes, Durango, Guanajuato, and Yucatan.
It only lost the majority in Tamaulipas, where the opposition alliance got 6 deputies compared to 16 of Morena-PT, when the state is going through a crisis of governability before the impeachment that the federal Chamber of Deputies approved to disapprove of the governor, Francisco Javier Cabeza de Vaca, but that was not ratified by a local Congress still PAN.
In Nuevo Leon, although Governor Jaime Rodriguez “El Bronco” came to power without a party, the PAN had control of Congress with just over half of the deputies. This time, while its candidate for governor, Fernando Larrazábal, finished in third place, the party won only 10 of 26 districts, below the 12 of the alliance formed only PRI-PRD, although above the 4 that Morena will have along with other parties.

The Va Por México alliance managed to keep Morena from having the majority of local deputies in Michoacan or Zacatecas, and in San Luis Potosi it overtook the PVEM-PT coalition that will govern (and where Morena did not win a single seat).
Regains positions in the federal Chamber of Deputies
In 2018, the Coalition for Mexico to the Front (PAN-PRD-MC) had won only 63 districts, and the PAN alone had another 5. That meant that in the current Chamber, it had 41 deputies of relative majority (elected) and 38 of proportional representation (plurinominales), 79 in total.
Instead now, the Va por México coalition (PAN-PRI-PRD) won in 65 districts and the PAN itself in another 34. Therefore, the calculation of the National Electoral Institute (INE) is that the white will be left with between 106 and 117 deputies, an increase from 34 to 48% of representatives.

By number of votes, the PAN obtained in 2018 over 9.9 million (plus 331 thousand of the combinations of alliances with PRD and MC). In this 2021, with 95% of the advance of the PREP, the blanquiazul had 8.5 million, which consolidates it as the second political force in the country, above the 8.3 million that the PRI had.
Resurgence in Mexico City
In Mexico City, where Morena and the PRD had shared almost everything in the last elections, the PAN resurfaces as a second political force. It remains only below Morena, but far above the PRD, which had control of the capital for years.
With 97% of the votes counted in the vote for local councils, the PAN had over 990 thousand votes, 26.2% of the total, compared to 1.5 million morena, which are 38.7%. While the PRI obtained 14.9% and the PRD only 5.3%.
The PAN was the only party that by itself achieved 5 local councils, in addition to the 7 it obtained together with PRI and PRD, which gives the opposition 12 out of 33 seats.

Of the mayoralties, more than half of the City was taken by the opposition alliance, with 8 of 16, in 3 of which the candidates emerged from the blanquiazul, in addition to dand that this party alone won re-election in the Benito Juárez, with Santiago Taboada.

The Miguel Hidalgo returns to the hands of a PAN[National Action Party]member with the election of Mauricio Tabe, and Azcapotzalco, with Margarita Saldaña, and Coyoacán, with Giovanni Gutiérrez, are added.
The rest of the coalition wins Cuajimalpa, with the re-election of priista Adrián Rubalcava; the Magdalena Contreras with Luis Gerardo Quijano, also emanating from the PRI; and Álvaro Obregón with Lía Limón, who was a PAN member but joined the PRI in 2012. From the PRD emanate only the winners in Tlalpan, Alfa Eliana González; and in the Cuauhtémoc, Sandra Cuevas.
