The Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) of Tamaulipas announced on Thursday the arrest of four subjects, among whom could be part of the participants in the massacre that occurred in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, on June 19.
The men placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office were identified as Ramiro “L”, alias “Wero”; José Reynaldo “V”, alias “Flaco”; Ricardo Manuel “L”, alias “Frankie y/o Pastillas”; and Alfonso Margarito “A”, alias “Simba and/or 41”.
As a result of two actions carried out by elements of the Special Operations Group (GOPES) of the Ministry of Public Security, in which 18 people were released – of which 3 had a complaint of disappearance – the subjects were arrested for the crime of illegal deprivation of liberty.

Based on the first investigations carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of Tamaulipas, with interviews and accusations of the victims, it was found that at least two of the detainees had material involvement in the multihomicide last Saturday, 19 June, in which 15 civilians lost their lives.
The FGJ indicated that this information would be made known to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) “for the strengthening of investigations and clarification of the facts.”

It should be recalled that last Monday, the government of Tamaulipas announced that the FGR would work with local authorities to investigate the massacre that occurred two days earlier.

The National Guard reported, in turn, that as of Thursday, June 24, they had already been detained. five people related to the violence in Reynosa, of which one was in flagrante delicto and two others were fully identified.

At the time of the last arrest of the four subjects, two Nissan-branded vehicles, the Versa model, were also secured; four long guns, two balaclavas, 29 metal devices referred to by the FGJ as ‘punch tires’, fornitures and tactical equipment.

Around noon on Saturday, June 19, an armed group launched a series of gun attacks in the colonies Almaguer, Lampacitos, Unidad Obrera and Bienestar, in the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
As a result of these events, state authorities confirmed that the victims were 15 citizens; 14 died at the time, from gunshot wounds, and another died in a hospital.

Shortly afterwards, four armed civilians, who were involved in the attack, were also killed, and in an attempt to be arrested, they resisted and attacked police personnel, and were repelled.
