Norway. – Social media influencers and advertising companies in Norway will have to mark with special labels photographs in which the human aspect has been retouched in a certain way.
The regulation was approved by the Norwegian Parliament a month ago as part of amendments to the Marketing Act and was introduced by the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs to deal with unrealistic beauty standards.
According to the document, the measure is intended to help “reduce body pressure in society due to the idealization of people in advertising.”
It is also said that the law applies to any manipulation of the size, shape or skin of the body, including the use of simple filters.
