translated from Spanish: Slow constitution of tables and last minute calls to participation: the tone of this day of primaries of I approve Dignity and Chile Vamos

Slowness in the installation of tables, few people in the voting centers and calls of the candidates to the citizenship to exercise their right to vote, have marked the day of primary elections this Sunday.
The first to call for a vote was President Sebastián Piñera, who after exercising his civic duty at the Colegio Juan Pablo II in Las Condes, said that “I trust and hope that we Chileans fulfill our commitments, that in spite of everything we come to vote.”
The president also said he has “full confidence that the candidate we choose today in Chile Vamos will be in the first and second rounds.”
In the same vein, the UDI candidate, Joaquin Lavin, maintained that “it is likely that today we are electing the next President of Chile,” and along those lines, he said that “if you care about Chile, come and vote today.”
On the other hand, the candidate of National Renewal (RN), Mario Desbordes, said: “I call for a vote. People who agree with me, with the social right, I invite you to vote.”
“I hope that today Chile Vamos will come out stronger. If I lose this primary, I will be behind whoever wins, as it should,” the former congressman added.
The independent Sebastian Sichel, for his part, called for “as many people as possible to vote.”
On behalf of A aprueba Dignidad, the candidate of the Communist Party (PC), Daniel Jadue, offered a brief statement: “This is a historic opportunity to begin to transform Chile from the territories. It will be a wonderful day.”
Meanwhile, candidate Gabriel Boric replied to his first spot of the electoral strip and climbed the emblematic tree in the city of Punta Arenas before going to vote: “I believe that the next President of the Republic will come out of the primary of A aprueba Dignidad.”
The day has also been marked by the slowness in the constitution of tables. Only at 10:30 in the morning, the Electoral Service (Servel) reported that 16,296 of the 16,420 were fully installed (99.24%), although after 11:00 AM, the figure rose to 16,540 (99.70%).
