Michoacán.- “My Digital Business” is a program that may not work for large entrepreneurs or those who already have experience in online sales, acknowledged the director of Impulse to MSMEs of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Gerson Rodríguez Vargas.
The above before the complaint that reached the newsroom of Monitor Expresso in which Carlos B., entrepreneur and expert in the creation of digital platforms in Morelia, said that weeks before the presentation of “My Digital Business” sedeco sought entrepreneurs, who at the time had or planned to launch an application for food delivery or promotion of local consumption, in order to join the project and attend the inauguration under the promise of managing resources for its growth, a fact that never happened.

“They looked for us and asked us for our support for the platform they were planning to launch, at the time we saw it and detected several irregularities that we call digital garbage, then, on the day of the presentation it is assumed that they made to the public and the press a delivery of an order made in their application, but it was false, because it never really served, it is a white elephant,” he said.
In that regard, he said that, at the time, entrepreneurs and app developers gave their view of the platform and were ignored.
Rodriguez Vargas pointed out that there were some failures, but that they have been corrected and to date more than 2 thousand businesses are registered on the platform.

“But it is many businesses that are starting and many do not even follow after the three months of trial, since after that they have to make a payment of 499 pesos per year for the page, which is a basic template with the data of the business, many have resulted, others do not, but everyone has the freedom to use it or not. ”
In this sense, he assured that Sedeco does not receive payments, nor does it earn anything from “My Digital Business”, since it is only an initiative to support MSMEs to continue taking advantage of Espacio Emprendedor.

However, Carlos B, who preferred anonymity to his complaint, pointed out that they were never given the support they were promised and “when we tried to join the Platform of My Digital Business, we found that they developed a badly made app, which asked you to register and you never received a response”.
“If you go to the My Digital Business page, a section comes out where they asked businesses to register, but this never worked and the directory that appears on the platform, are among those who registered in the first stage of the program.”

Therefore, he regretted that Sedeco took advantage of and excited local entrepreneurs with “My Digital Business”, because many had the hope of being able to receive advice and the necessary support to be able to migrate to digital platforms and thus grow their income.
Rodríguez Vargas stressed that the platform is a directory in which it is the responsibility of business owners to promote themselves and make themselves known, given the growth of online sales that was detected in the country before and during the pandemic, “many have been very useful and others have not, but we do not receive a weight and we do not make any investment, since it is an agreement with the companies of Google, Virket, Mr. Pago and Envioclick”.
