Mexico on Wednesday recorded the largest increase in infections in the third wave of COVID, with 19,28 cases.

With 537 new deaths, the country reached 239,616 deaths from the disease, and there are 12,290 suspicious deaths.

Officials said there was a 20% increase in COVID cases between weeks 27 and 28 of the year. So far 2 million 181 thousand 291 people have recovered.

More than 44 million vaccinated
On Tuesday, one million 453,638 vaccines against COVID were applied in Mexico, so there are 63 million 313,209 reported in total.

Health indicated that 44 million 188 thousand 943 people have been immunized: of them 24 million 856 thousand 170 have received the complete scheme, and 19 million 332 thousand 773 only the first dose.
The National Vaccination Strategy has reported that 49% of the population over the age of 18 has already been vaccinated.
