“It was an unpleasant situation of a lot of shouting, lying, aggressiveness, but it didn’t happen anymore,” she said, referring to some of the slogans of those who rebuked her, and which alluded to the events that triggered her dismissal as education minister in 2008 over the boisterous case of subsidies, and that have been recalled on social media now that she is in the presidential race.
Provoste added that “only verbal violence was present, there was no physical violence against me or the leaders of the fairs who were the ones who invited me,” to the members of the Feria Grande de Puente Alto, located one block from the plaza of the populous commune.
Along with thanking the demonstrations of solidarity received by the episode, Provoste indicated that “I have always been on the ground and a situation like the one I experienced is absolutely alien to me,” and despite the setback he indicated that “nothing is going to ameliolate our effort to continue being in contact with the citizens.”
