Universidad de Chile announced on Monday Luis Roggiero Luzuriaga as the new sports manager of the institution, who will take over next September. In addition, the Ecuadorian “joined the football commission in Independiente del Valle, a club in which he assumed the position of sports manager from 2015. Being part of the executive team, the ‘negriazul’ cast reached the final of the 2016 Copa Libertadores, and won the 2019 Copa Sudamericana, in addition to the Copa Libertadores U20 in 2020.” To conclude, the ‘U’ clarified that Roggiero will have the mission of leading “a medium and long-term process to strengthen all our areas of football, the work of the new sports manager will be based on building work teams and designing and implementing processes, which will be materialized in the most systematic way possible in order to lay foundations that lead to successful results.”
