In previous days, collectives and women activists from the Toluca Valley signed a statement in which they called on all women to organize from their digital and public spaces to demand the decriminalization of abortion in the State of Mexico.

“The criminalization and stigma that exists around the right to decide about our motherhood has forced more than 63 thousand women to resort to health services offered in Mexico City, or failing that, to go to clandestine clinics that do not guarantee the safety of those who decide to have an abortion, often risking their health and freedom, and even his life, when there is misinformation about the procedure.”
They maintain that currently 101 girls, women and pregnant persons from the State of Mexico are victims of criminalization processes for abortion. In addition, 98 per cent of existing complaints concern women living in rural areas and the metropolitan area.
